FBI Joint Intelligence Bulletin:Homegrown Terrorists

In this article titled, FBI Joint Intelligence Bulletin:Homegrown Terrorists, we will examine a recent FBI bulletin along with comments by US Attorney General Eric Holder that lead one to wonder just who the government perceives as the real threat.

It is surely no secret that after the events of 9/11 the internal security apparatus of the United States activated to a level not seen since the days of the Great Red Menace. Back then everyone was a suspected “commie”. Witch hunts…sorry…”hearings” were the order of the day, the poster-boy for which was Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Joe McCarthy Headline

Today there are no McCarthy hearings to root terrorists out of Congress or Hollywood. Actually there is very little talk of “the enemy within”. But make no mistake, in the world of US threat assessments, one threat is rapidly moving to the front of the list.

Holder: Home-Grown Terrorists Threat Rivals Overseas

After years of security briefings and thwarting terrorist plots, national security still keeps Eric Holder awake.

America now confronts a very different terrorist threat than it did four years ago, according to Holder. While al Qaeda’s central leadership has been diminished, the group is more “widespread” geographically—and the threat of homegrown terrorists in the U.S. now rivals that of plots hatched overseas, Holder told ABC News.

AG Holder goes on to discuss his concerns that the US populace is becoming “complacent” in it’s attitudes towards terrorism.

“I worry a little that the American people, from the general population, has become a little complacent that we don’t understand or realize that the threats are still real, that the danger is out there, is still tangible, that we still have to be as vigilant as we need to be,”

One should think that they have been sufficiently reminded now, yes?

Holder goes on to discuss the role of the FBI in thwarting a number of suspected terrorist plots within the US but fails to mention the FBI’s role in helping to create some of those very same plots.

FBI Fake Terror Plot History: Judge Napolitano

“Does the government work for us or do we work for the government? Can the federal government take credit for saving us from a plot of it’s own creation?”

Bless that man for daring to speak some truth in an age of continuous obfuscation and propaganda.

Unfortunately the government does not seem satisfied with simply creating and thwarting it’s own terrorist threats. Nor do they seem satisfied with the dozens of alphabet agencies and security measures put in place after 9/11.

FBI DHS Bulletin

One day after the bombings in Boston the FBI released a Joint Intelligence Bulletin titled, Indicators and Protective Measures In Light of Boston Marathon Explosions. You can view the complete pdf file by clicking on the above banner.

Given these events, we are providing indicators and protective measures to aid law enforcement and first responders in identifying and mitigating potential threats.

Each indicator listed below may be by itself, lawful conduct or behavior and may also constitute the exercise of rights guaranteed by the US Constitution. In addition, there may be a wholly innocent explanation for conduct or behavior that appears suspicious in nature. For this reason, no single indicator should be the sole basis for law enforcement action. The totality of behavioral indicators and other relevant circumstances should be evaluated when considering any law enforcement response or action.

Possible indicators of pre-operational surveillance or attack planning include:

Suspicious purchases of items that could be used to construct an explosive device, including hydrogen peroxide, acetone, gasoline, propane, or fertilizer;

Discreet use of cameras or video recorders, sketching, or note-taking consistent with pre-operational surveillance;

Interest in speaking with building maintenance personnel;

The first examples would seem to make suspects of suicide blondes who wish to remove their nail polish, along with anyone who drives, camps, gardens or farms.

The second examples would appear to make potential suspects of tourists taking photos/videos, not that police have required a reason to assault, harass and arrest citizens for recording various constitutionally protected things, including their activities, in the past. Not even various rulings by state courts or pronouncements from police officials have seemed to stem the tide of those particular abuses.

The 3rd example would seem to be designed to ensure that building maintenance personnel remain lonely and unappreciated. For shame.

A quick search on one of my favorite resources for keeping up-to-date on the encroaching police state shows just how many of these types of incidents occur daily in the US. I typed in “filming police” and came up with 527 pages of results. You can bet that none of them relate to proper lighting or photographic technique.

Perhaps we should get the officer from video #1 to speak to the potty-mouthed officer from video #3.

This last one is one of the more egregious examples of the lengths to which authorities will go to intimidate and malign those who dare challenge them.

Harlem Couple Branded ‘Professional Agitators’ in NYPD ‘Wanted’ Poster

Professional agitators

The NYPD has created a “wanted” poster for a Harlem couple who film cops conducting stop-and-frisks and post the videos on YouTube — branding them “professional agitators” who portray cops in a bad light and listing their home address, DNAinfo.com New York has learned.

The flyer featured side-by-side mugshots of Matthew Swaye, 35, and his partner Christina Gonzalez, 25, and warned officers to be on guard against them. It was spotted by multiple people, including the couple, when it was taped to a podium outside a public hearing room in the 30th Precinct house last Thursday, where residents met for precinct council meeting.

“Be aware that above subjects are known professional agitators,” read the flyer, which bears the NYPD shield and a seal of the NYPD’s Intelligence Division. It also gave the home address of the couple.

Lest you think someone is exaggerating about where the flyer was posted, well, you can stop.

While authorities have no interest in being monitored they clearly have no issue with doing the monitoring. As we speak, surveillance technology lobbyists, control freaks and perverts are lining up to ensure we are faced with even more intrusive spying into our day-to-day lives.

Rep. Peter King, Mayor Bloomberg Agree: Boston Bombing Shows We Desperately Need MORE Surveillance

“They had to piece together I don’t know how many thousands of videos,” said Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican who is on the House Committee on Homeland Security. “I think CCTV [closed-circuit television] cameras are much more needed in urban areas.”

The FBI and police already had “how many thousands of videos,” and yet it’s still not enough. More cameras are “needed.” King continues this line of thinking in an interview with MSNBC.

So, I do think we need more cameras. We have to stay ahead of the terrorists and I do know in New York, the Lower Manhattan Security Initiative, which is based on cameras, the outstanding work that results from that. So yes, I do favor more cameras. They’re a great law enforcement method and device. And again, it keeps us ahead of the terrorists, who are constantly trying to kill us.

Mayor Bloomberg:

“The Boston bombing is a terrible reminder of why we’ve made these investments—including camera technology that could help us deter an attack, or investigate and apprehend those involved,” New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said this past week. He added the network now has the ability to “alert police to abnormalities it detects on the street, such as an abandoned package that is left on a corner.”

Bloomberg went on to say, “and hey, there’s no reason this technology can’t be used to make us all healthier by identifying and apprehending those observed to be ingesting too much soda.” All joking aside, it may be worth noting that surveillance technology played no role in the eventual apprehending of the suspect. Nice try, Michael.

Not content to leave it there, Bloomberg continues his assault on personal freedoms by suggesting that the very nature and interpretation of the US Constitution will have to change.

The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry,” Mr. Bloomberg said during a press conference in Midtown. “But we live in a complex world where you’re going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change.”

Wow. Who elects these constitutional terrorists to office?

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis has even gone on the record this week as advocating for the use of drones at next year’s Boston Marathon.

Boston Police Chief Wants Drones for Next Year’s Marathon

“Drones are a great idea. I don’t know that would be the first place I’d invest money (Ed note: my guess would be a bakery), but certainly to cover an event like this, and have an eye in the sky that would be much cheaper to run than a helicopter is a really good idea,”

The Federal Aviation Administration expects tens of thousands of drones in US airspace by the end of the decade, and already the FAA is approving Certificates of Waiver or Authorization (COA) for a number of law enforcement agencies on target to fully take America into the age of drones.

FBI Joint Intelligence Bulletin:Homegrown Terrorists

There are still many questions left to answer regarding the Boston bombings, the Sandy Hook school shootings and the alleged perpetrators of both, not to mention 9/11 or a litany of other events. What is not in question is the direction and scope of the US government’s response.

Between the TSA assaulting children, the aged and the infirmed; the NYPD randomly stopping and frisking citizens; warrantless wire-tapping; Homeland Security Checkpoints:Constitution-Free Zones; and the NDAA allowing for the assassinations of American citizens it seems clear that there is no one more dangerous to today’s oligarchical power structure…

…than you.
