(Photo) White House Spoof Site Released Fake Obama Skeet Shooting Photo

The internet is buzzing with a fake photo that shows President Obama skeet shooting at Camp David. It was released by a White House Spoof site and pushed by the same magazine, The New Republic, who recently interviewed the president, asking him: “Have you ever fired a gun?” See the fake Obama Skeet shooting photo below

“Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time,”

President Obama said.

FOX– President Obama, who as a candidate once claimed some people “cling” to guns and religion, revealed his skeet-shooting interest – something that he has not mentioned before – and went on to defend America’s hunting tradition.

Drudgereport and other blogs were buzzing with this new information of President Obama claiming he goes skeet shooting at Camp David all the time. A CNN journalist Erin Burnett did a segment insinuating Obama’s lying about his shooting. She challenged the White House and said:”I’m sure we won’t see any pictures of the President skeet shooting anytime soon”

“Obama the skeet shooter,” she began. “Yeah, I’m not making this up. I mean, if someone is, it isn’t me.”

Erin Burnett then played the clip of CNN’s Jessica Yellin confronting Press Secretary Jay Carney on the comments, repeatedly asking if a picture of the activity existed and why no one had ever heard of him doing it before.

Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher’s response To Burnett: “Such speculation is to be expected from a deranged partisan, but not from a journalist. She owes him an apology.”

Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.

Burnett also says that CBS News’ Mark Knoller “told us he’s heard of bowling, golfer, archery, but not skeet shooting,” but Knoller apparently has “heard of” skeet shooting at Camp David, since he tweeted a photo of the activity on Sunday.

A parody or spoof site of the white house then decided to release a fake photo of President Obama skeet shooting on their website. It is so fake that it isn’t even funny. They photo-shopped the President in to the Camp David photo from one of his photos playing golf. “The New Republic” ran with it, and tweeted the photo on their twitter page:

@tnr: PHOTO: Obama shooting skeet at Camp David. http://whitehouse.gov1.info/camp-david/index.html … (from http://whitehouse.gov)

They did not realize that the photo was not hosted on whitehouse.gov, the picture linked to the following URL:

Many blogs ran with this story, I guess the internet had some fun 🙂 The question is, how many people are still believing 1.) President Obama’s Skeet shooting picture is real 2.) Believe the skeet shooting photo from President Obama is fake, but think the White House released the photo.

UPDATE: The White House released a “real” skeet shooting photo of President Obama Saturday, Feb. 2nd. It shows the President skeet shooting on the range at Camp David, Md., with a date of Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza),.

Gun owners mocked President Obama as Elmer Fudd yesterday after the White House released the skeet shooting photo — in the middle of a gun control weapon debate — of the commander-in-chief shooting clay targets at Camp David over the summer.

Meanwhile, the White House mocks doubters, former White House senior adviser David Plouffe and White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer, took it to Twitter to mock those who might believe the photograph of President Obama shooting a firearm is fake as you can see in the skeet shooting picture posted on Twitter.

Below, you can see a real skeet shooting photo of President Kennedy at Camp David, and watch a video of him skeet shooting below.
